We consider a soluble covariant extension of the two-dimensional Dirac oscillator (2D DO), which breaks the infinite degeneracy of the energy spectrum. The energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenstates of the system are obtained algebraically using chiral creation and annihilation operators. The effect of the coupling to an external constant transverse magnetic field is investigated. The connection with Jaynes-Cummings (JC) and Anti-Jaynes-Cummings (AJC) models of quantum optics, and other features of the system are also discussed. 相似文献

The bending and torsional vibration of the periodic perpendicular cantilever beam-mass resonators (PCBMR) is idealized as translational and rotational oscillators attached to the main beam. In this paper, the effect of that torsional vibration of the PCBMR on the dynamics of an infinitely long Euler-Bernoulli beam is evaluated. The band-structure is explored by implementing the transfer matrix method in conjunction with Bloch-Floquet's theorem. The combination of the translational and rotational oscillator modifies the relative position of the coupling coefficient in the transfer matrix, which plays a pivotal role in the band-gap formation. The flexural band-structure is highly sensitive to the torsional vibration while the radius of gyration of the tip mass is considerably higher than the length of the PCBMR. Ill-tuning leads to split and reduction of attenuation band to 50%; whereas, around 38% elongation of the attenuation band in the low frequency regime can be achieved by proper tuning. 相似文献

A nonlinear time-domain simulation model for predicting two-dimensional vortex-induced vibration (VIV) of a flexibly mounted circular cylinder in planar and oscillatory flow is presented. This model is based on the utilization of van der Pol wake oscillators, being unconventional since wake oscillators have typically been applied to steady flow VIV predictions. The time-varying relative flow–cylinder velocities and accelerations are accounted for in deriving the coupled hydrodynamic lift, drag and inertia forces leading to the cylinder cross-flow and in-line oscillations. The system fluid–structure interaction equations explicitly contain the time-dependent and hybrid trigonometric terms. Depending on the Keulegan–Carpenter number (KC) incorporating the flow maximum velocity and excitation frequency, the model calibration is performed, entailing a set of empirical coefficients and expressions as a function of KC and mass ratio. Parametric investigations in cases of varying KC, reduced flow velocity, cylinder-to-flow frequency ratio and mass ratio are carried out, capturing some qualitative features of oscillatory flow VIV and exploring the effects of system parameters on response prediction characteristics. The model dependence of hydrodynamic coefficients on the Reynolds number is studied. Discrepancies and limitations versus advantages of the present model with different feasible solution scenarios are illuminated to inform the implementation of wake oscillators as a computationally efficient prediction model for VIV in oscillatory flows. 相似文献

We study spectral approximations of Schrödinger operators T = ?Δ+Q with complex potentials on Ω = ?d, or exterior domains Ω??d, by domain truncation. Our weak assumptions cover wide classes of potentials Q for which T has discrete spectrum, of approximating domains Ωn, and of boundary conditions on ?Ωn such as mixed Dirichlet/Robin type. In particular, Re Q need not be bounded from below and Q may be singular. We prove generalized norm resolvent convergence and spectral exactness, i.e. approximation of all eigenvalues of T by those of the truncated operators Tn without spectral pollution. Moreover, we estimate the eigenvalue convergence rate and prove convergence of pseudospectra. The effect of plasma screening on the dynamic dipole polarizability (DPP) of two‐electron ions Be2+, B3+, and C4+ has been investigated using highly correlated exponential wave functions within the framework of pseudostate summation technique and Debye screening concept. Plasma‐screening effect on the oscillator strengths (OS) of the ultraviolet and visible series has also been investigated for the systems Li+, Be2+, B3+, C4+. The DPP are reported as functions of screening parameters. The OS for S‐P transitions are also reported for various screening parameters. The first-passage time of Duffing oscillator under combined harmonic andwhite-noise excitations is studied. The equation of motion of the system is firstreduced to a set of averaged Itô stochastic differential equations by using thestochastic averaging method. Then, a backward Kolmogorov equation governing theconditional reliability function and a set of generalized Pontryagin equationsgoverning the conditional moments of first-passage time are established. Finally, theconditional reliability function, and the conditional probability density and momentsof first-passage time are obtained by solving the backward Kolmogorov equation andgeneralized Pontryagin equations with suitable initial and boundary conditions.Numerical results for two resonant cases with several sets of parameter values areobtained and the analytical results are verified by using those from digital simulation. 相似文献

The response of a system of two nonlinearly coupled van der Poloscillators to a principal parametric excitation in the presence ofone-to-one internal resonance is investigated. The asymptoticperturbation method is applied to derive the slow flow equationsgoverning the modulation of the amplitudes and the phases of the twooscillators. These equations are used to determine steady-stateresponses, corresponding to a periodic motion for the starting system(synchronisation), and parametric excitation-response andfrequency-response curves. Energy considerations are used to studyexistence and characteristics of limit cycles of the slow flowequations. A limit cycle corresponds to a two-period amplitude- andphase-modulated motion for the van der Pol oscillators. Two-periodmodulated motion is also possible for very low values of the parametricexcitation and an approximate analytic solution is constructed for thiscase. If the parametric excitation increases, the oscillation period ofthe modulations becomes infinite and an infinite-period bifurcationsoccur. The scope of this paper is to introduce a new wavelet-balanceprocedure allowing to give a genuine time-scale representation ofvibrations of nonlinear dynamical systems by adopting a waveletmultiresolution approach. In a former paper, a wavelet-Galerkinoriented procedure was developed to analyze vibrations of lineartime-periodic systems. The topic is here to extend the process tothe nonlinear case using a perturbation technique. The underlyingidea consists in successively balancing the linearized equationsof motion into wavelet spaces with increasing resolution scales.Here we demonstrate the wavelet-balance procedure may accuratelyexhibit both transient and stationary vibrations of any nonlinearproblem in general, whatever smooth nonlinearity shape or externalforcing may be. In addition, wavelets inherit of fairly goodtime-frequency localization properties that are likely to permitthe investigation of strong nonlinear problems. Numericalexperiments achieved on a well known Duffing oscillator involvinga cubic nonlinearity then illustrate the procedure. Simulationsattest the relevance of the method by comparison with eitherpurely numerical results obtained with a Runge–Kutta integrationscheme or with an analytical study based on the multiple scalesmethod. We demonstrate that this semi-analytical semi-numericalperturbation method permits to capture stable limit cycles of theDuffing oscillator and its related amplitude spectrum response orstill responses to pulse-like excitations.
